Music and Memory – A live event featuring Ray Davies of The Kinks in conversation with Psychologist, Dr. Tim Wildschut, chaired by Fiona Lindsay at NST’s Fulcrum Festival 2015.

Acclaimed lyricist and composer of legendary band The Kinks, Ray Davies, discussed the interplay between music, memory and our sense of self with Psychologist Dr. Tim Wildschut, whose pioneering research focusses on the causes, nature and function of nostalgia (read more in The New York Times).

Fulcrum 2015, brainchild of NST’s Artistic Director, Sam Hodges, highlights the exciting, provocative and dynamic intersection between biomedical science, culture and the arts.

Kinks legend leads festival. Science and art are set to be fused at a Southampton festival featuring world-class speakers and members of innovative theatre companies. Fulcrum, run by Nuffield Theatre, returns for a second year and will be led by Ray Davies (The Kinks) with Music and Memory. He will discuss the connection between music, memory and sense of self, alongside Dr. Tim Wildschut, a psychologist from the University of Southampton.
